Hardesty MountainApril 29, 1990There was beautiful spring weather for the seven hikers who challenged themselves to climb Hardesty Mountain April 29. After the 3-hour ascent we started our lunch in a brief snow shower at the top. It cleared up nicely after that and we chatted and then took a side trip along the cut-off trail near the top. We had a pleasant walk down the hill with just a small amount of rain. I had estimated the trip to be around 10 miles, but after looking at a map I found we had walked about 13 miles!! The hardy hikers were Marie Baldwin, Steve Dawes, Ben Elkus, Marty Hathaway, Gary Marx, Nancy Ridings and Suzanne Steussy (leader). |
