Mt. PisgahApril 26, 1990When we arrived at the Arboretum, school children were just starting their nature walks. We took a short trip around the wildflower garden and the water garden, and then hiked up the power line trail to the top. Along the way we found neolite, which now has commercial value as a deodorizing product. Pleasant lunch stop on top at noon, and back down for another look at the Arboretum and the Incense Cedar Trails. Best part of the day for Craig Boosey was identifying poison oak; Rita Harter – proud peacock; Shirley Miller – turtles; Alys Riley finding Mission Bells; Jean Richardson – Larkspur Lane; and leader Dot Leland – birds nest fungi. |
