Elijah Bristow State Park & Goodman CreekJanuary 21, 1990This easy winter walk was supposed to take place on a foul stormy or foggy day when hikers would not want to venture far from home. But the sky was clear, the sun shone, the air was crisp. Our group trotted through the muddy 3 or 4 miles of horse trails and sat down to an early picnic lunch in the sunshine. We all decided we’d like some more hike. Therefore, we headed up to Goodman Creek Trail where we walked another couple of hours. Our second lunch was eaten beside a rushing creek. Our group observed several downed trees from a recent storm. Crawling over some which blocked the trails was the most strenuous part of our easy hike. Enjoying the sunny day were Leon Dannen, Sharon Edwards, Ben Elkins, Bob Foster, Bob Galvan, Mary Millman, Peggy Robinson, Ginny Sliman and Susan Baker (leader). |
