Christmas Tree Hunt
December 10, 1989
It was a fine day for Christmas Tree Hunting!
We experienced intermittent snowfall as well as periods of sunshine.
Just north of Clear Lake are a number of small openings that were planted with Douglas fir
and Noble fir more than a decade ago.
Our group of eight examined the available selection of trees and chose only Noble firs.
We also found one for the Lodge.
It didn’t take long to complete our search and load our trees to transport them back.
We had lunch at Fish Lake and went for a short hike east up the Santiam Wagon Road.
The members of our group included Bea Fontana, Gene Thaxton, Catherine Jones, Teresa Ladd,
Dennis Lueck, Suzanne Steussy, Margaret Wiese and leader Dave Predeek.
