Youngs Rock

November 5, 1989

The weather was partly cloudy with limited visibility, but the temperature was moderate which well-suited this tough hike. The trail was in good shape except for a small rock slide below Youngs Rock which partly obscured the trail. Bob Foster took us on a small detour off the trail up onto Youngs Rock, where we enjoyed a panoramic view with our lunch. We continued on to Moon Point where we enjoyed the view with light snow flurries. We made it back to the trailhead by dusk thanks to a strong group. Hikers were Karin Thompson, Barbara Schulz, Bob Foster, Gary Marx, Ed Lovegren and John Englehart, substitute leader for Michael Cooper (who couldn’t make it due to illness).
