We were fortunate in having very fine weather for our hike to Carl Lake.
The exceptionally clear water of the lake appeared deep blue under a sunny, cloudless sky.
We began our hike from the Cabot Lake Trailhead on the east side of the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness.
Ripe, purple huckleberries were abundant along the trail.
We ate lunch along the shore of Carl Lake and then hiked up a ridge for a better view.
Those enjoying this late summer outing were Bob Foster, Teresa Ladd, Jerry La Fountain, Gary Marx,
Ed Meservey, Suzanne Steussy, Wajtek Sxalecky, Birgitte Williams and leader Dave Predeek.
