Eleven of us drove the Willamette Pass to the Waldo Lake turnoff; the trailhead for The Twins
is on the right slightly more than 6 miles from the turnoff.
The day was bright with some fluffy clouds and a strong cold wind that had us pulling out extra
clothing as we stopped at the first Twin for lunch.
Waldo Lake and the peaks to the north were the attractions.
Eight of us went on to the higher second Twin with five lakes spread below, and, we all agreed,
Mt. Shasta far to the south.
We bushwhacked down to the trail, met the other three and headed out.
Obsidians Norm Benton, Helen Lynch, Wilma Moore, Hank Plant, Margaret Wiese and Birgitte Williams
were joined by Maggie Gontrum, Pat Jensen, Katherine and Roger Nicholls.
This 7-mile hike on a pleasant fall day was led by Obsidian Catherine Jones.
