The eight hikers who started from Eugene at 7:15 a.m. in spite of guarded weather reports were
rewarded with sunshine and warmth at the Green Lakes Trailhead.
Perfect hiking conditions and while making frequent stops to view small waterfalls, we were
lunching at the lakes by 12:15.
This allowed over two hours for us to scatter and explore the area, admire Broken Top
and South Sister and take pictures.
Going down the trail we passed scores of backpackers heading in for the holiday weekend.
Back at the cars by 4:30.
This beautiful trail should be a regular outing, even though it’s about 195 minutes to
Green Lakers were Chris Christensen, Bob Foster, Joe Freedman, Sandra Larsen, Dave Predeek,
Robin Prentice, Sharon Ritchie and Ed Lichtenstein (leader).
