Jefferson Park

August 6, 1989

Jefferson Park reached via the Whitewater Trail was as beautiful as expected. In spite of many hikers the trail did not seem crowded. The wildflowers were spectacular and the huckleberries were ripening at the lower elevations. The last few miles of the road reaching the Whitewater Trailhead are very washboardy and really could stand a gentle grading. The walk and the view were wonderful on a very nice day. Hiking were John Braswell, Bob Brooks, Barbara Chinn, Jane and John Corliss, Barbara Elsen, Bob Foster, Barbara Grigsby, Anne Hebloons, Vi Johnson, Barbara Kempf, Carolyn Kompanik, Kathy Perkins, Sharon Ritchie, Hans Schock, Barbara Schulz, Eleanor Wilkerson, Irving Wohlfarth and leader Mary Ellen West.
