Fuji MountainJuly 12, 1989Six of us left Eugene on a sunny Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. crowded into a five passenger automobile. We were met by small, biting black flies at the trailhead to Fuji Mountain. Liberal applications of insect repellant kept then at bay. A few remaining snow drifts interrupted the 1½-mile trail to the top which opened to a vista of the Cascades which was enjoyed with lunch. Our party, consisting of Matt Cooper, Mary Millman, Birgitte Williams, Bonnie and Marilyn Murdock and leader Royal Murdock, were back in Eugene by 3 p.m. |
