Tamolitch ValleyJuly 9, 1989This trip was originally scheduled for the Matthieu Lakes Loop but Highway 242 was still closed so we didn’t have access to our original trailhead. As an alternate hike we chose the Tamolitch Valley as described by Doug Newman in the Register-Guard, Tuesday, June 13th, 1989. The Tamolitch Valley is on the McKenzie River Trail between Trail Bridge Dan and Carmen Reservoir. As Doug says, this is a very rewarding hike and highly recommended. The high point of the trip is the beautiful Tamolitch Pool with its “turquoise-hued” water and reflections. Enjoying the day were: Dan and Rebecca Dixon, Loretta Mason, Paula Vehrs and co-leaders Kathy and Parker Riddle. |
