McKenzie River TrailJuly 1, 1989Four Obsidians started out on our McKenzie River Trail trip. We drove up to Trail Bridge, crossed and started our hike from there. Intended to eat our lunch at Tamolitch Pool, but no one was hungry so we went back down the trail to a good stopping place for lunch. We then hiked on down to the Trail Bridge Campground and returned by the same route. All hikers said that they had enjoyed the hike. The weather was ideal for hiking, cool and cloudy. On the way we enjoyed wildflowers such as pipsissewa, tiger lilies, twin flowers, and others which we could not name. We were back in Eugene by 4:30, satisfied with our trip. Hikers were Amy Clugston, Genie Currier, Lois Morse and Miki Hutchison (leader). |
