Threemile LakeJune 3, 1989This party of five was one of several taking off from 19th and Patterson. It was a bright, sunny day, perfect for going towards the coast. Harlo and Marty Perrin were waiting at the appointed time and place, the Tahkenitch Campground, from where the trail starts off. The going was easy, the sun warm, quite a few rhododendron still in bloom as this was the reason for taking this hike at this time of the year. At the lakeside the wind and fog from the ocean made us retreat to the shelter of trees. Passing over the dunes we were amazed at the expanse of lupines in bloom there. A leisurely lunch and walk back made this a very enjoyable outing for Teresa Brown, Tilde Jensen, Harlo and Marty Perrin, Henrietta Richmond, Ardys Ringsdorf and Paula Vehrs (leader). |
