Waldport to Yachats

April 22, 1989

Thanks to two “no-shows” (why can’t signers have the courtesy to call the leader and cancel?), we were able to use just two vehicles and work our shuttle by leaving a car at The Adobe with everyone getting into Sharon’s big “van” for the put-in at Waldport. We had a little rain all day, so raingear was the day’s uniform. We were able to cross all streams except Big Creek where we walked up to the highway and to the next State Park picnic area for lunch. By 2:00 p.m. all hikers arrived at The Adobe and the end of our well-paced beach trek. The participants were Doris Allen, Teresa Brown, Rachele Noto Fiszman, Sylvia Harvey, Mardi Klotz, Sharon Ritchie, Barbara Spencer and leader Joe Lowry.
