Alton Baker Park to Pleasant HillApril 9, 1989We met at Alton Baker Park, and just before we set out on our bikes Dave Predeek joined us. He was biking around the area and didn’t bring a helmet, but biked with us on the bike path to Springfield. There he returned to Eugene and we continued to 52nd Street where we took the Weyerhaeuser Road over the hills to Wallace Creek Road. After a speedy descent down the road we stopped at the Jasper Store for lunch supplies. We lunched at Jasper Park under sunny skies. The temperature rose to 78 degrees and was perfect for bike shorts. After lunch we followed Edenvale to Pleasant Hill, enjoying lots of flowers, trees leafing out and orchards in blossom. We stopped at the P.H. Dairy Queen to resupply a few calories and then contentedly biked the back roads to Springfield and Alton Baker Park. Good day and good riders. Two ladies failed to show up. The riders were Dave Becker, Herb Lee, Bob Devine, Bob Moffitt, Pat Sterling and leader Carol Houde. |
