February 28, 1988
A party of nine, we got along fine.
Oh, let’s not start that again!
We never know what to expect on this trip at 3,000 to 3,600-ft. elevation.
This one turned out to be one of the best.
We were able to drive to within two miles of the summit of Road 11, above Green Peter Dam.
We reached the summit, on skis, an hour before noon, for a spectacular view of Mt. Jeff.
We then went on up Roads 1133 and 390 for a lunch break on some dry logs, then a nice run back
to the Road 11 summit for some fun on the slopes and a great view of Mt. Hood.
After a nice run down, we arrived at the cars about 2:30 for the very scenic ride down to the
“Point” Restaurant for snacks.
The 6 mile ski trip, on ideal February snow, was enjoyed by Susan Baker, Rachele Noto Fiszman,
Bea Fontana, Jon Lingel, Robbi Packard, Don Sullivan, Gene Thaxton, Jane Tucker,
and Wes Prouty (leader).
