The Willamette Valley was overcast, but the east side of the Cascades around Black Butte was not.
We had beautiful warm, short-sleeve weather and a view from Mt. Adams to Mt. Bachelor for our
leisurely lunch stop atop Black Butte.
The fall foliage was pretty, but not nearly as colorful as in previous years.
No hunters were observed anywhere on Black Butte this year.
We awarded our group a rating of 10 (Dave Becker, Teresa Brown, Beverly Davies, Bob Foster,
Gladys Grancorvitz, Vi Johnson, Kay McClair, Suzanne Steussy, Gene Thaxton and leader Joe Lowry).
