August 28, 1988
Carp Lake is a seven mile walk from the trailbead at Pole Creek and is part of the
Chambers Lakes nestled in the saddle between the South and Middle Sister.
August 28 was a hot day and remained so even at the usually windy and cool Camp Lake.
Wading was a treat for hot feet.
The hike is long but not difficult; in fact, the only steep spot is no more than 100 yards.
The trail is in good shape and the views outstanding.
The last two miles of trail are in the open and proceed closely along the east side of
all Three Sisters with views of Broken Top to the southeast.
A super trip for David Becker, Vi Johnson, Marsha King, Ron Nunemaker, Joe Sharp, David Skinner,
Gene Thaxton and leader Mary Ellen West.
