August 10, 1988
The trip departed at 7 a.m. to avoid hiking in the heat.
A pleasant drive up the McKenzie Pass ended at Scott Lake Campground, the point of beginning the hike.
It was cooler than expected but upon arrival at Benson Lake this did not deter the hikers from
a swim in the lake.
The water was cold but delightfully refreshing.
The group continued on to the Tenas Lakes and circled five of the lakes.
From there we continued on to the top of Scott Mountain where we had an early lunch.
The skies were beautifully clear and we could see all the Oregon Cascade mountains.
After a relaxing lunch and lounging in the sun we headed back and reached the trailhead by 2 p.m.
The return to Eugene was uneventful.
Hikers on this trip to Scott Mountain were Clifford and Laurel Fisher, and leader John Kocher.
