Mt. Thielsen

We started from our campsite at Diamond Lake at 7:00 a.m. To avoid the long new trail and its many switchbacks, we used the old trail which had many logs felled across it to discourage use. It was still better than the long out-of-the-way new trail. Three of us were on the top in time for rest and a long lunch. One climber had enough half way up the pinnacle and asked to be let down to the saddle. Great weather on top was enjoyed by Dana Gardner, Kathryn Schneider and Lee Hatch (leader).
