Odell ButteMarch 8, 1987A small yet congenial group ascended this Butte in changing weather conditions. On the ascent the broken clouds and crusty snow gave way to a significant snowstorm on top. Beware those dark gray winter clouds! This served as a good reminder to be prepared for the worst when playing in the mountains! After descending about 500-ft. the weather gradually improved, and the storm was soon left behind us, still on top. The storm gave us fresh snow for the sail down. The group included Anne Montgomery, Herb McMurtry, and leader Carol Horvath. |
