Taits TrailFebruary 22, 1987With great trepidation as the snow and wind blew, seven hardy Obsidians boarded the chair lift and headed off to Pilot Rock. From Taits Trail we bushwhacked to the west side of Pilot Rock, overlooking Rosary Lakes. A fixed line was attempted, but with deteriorating weather conditions and icy rock, only Steve and Joe summitted, while the rest took shelter and ate lunch. Windy gusts, snow and fog limited visibility, but the run down through Rosary Lakes went well. Skiers were Bea Fontana, Jane Hackett, Steve Johnson, Gene Thaxton, Joe Turner, and leaders Tom Donnelly and Chris Shuraleff. |
