Newberry CraterFebruary 8, 1987The weather in Newberry Crater was great as usual. The snow was not the usual powder, but it was very good. A short distance into the trip one skier managed to break her ski boot in half-literally! Bill Wood stepped forward with tools, wire, tape and the know-how to accomplish repairs that lasted the entire day. For this he was give the “Hero-of-the-Day” award. A warm location for lunch stop at the Lodge and then a nice run back down the mountain. Those enjoying this primo day were Tom Cawi, Jerry Crosby, Genie Currier, Bea Fontana, Jane Hackett, Janet Jacobsen, Vi Johnson, Anne Montgomery, Royal Murdock, Dave Predeek, Velma Shirk, Ruth Wisner, Bill Wood and Gene Thaxton (leader). |
