Crescent Lake

January 10, 1987

Fifteen skiers left Oakridge for East Odell Lodge under high thin cirrus clouds and dew points in the teens. Though this trip had a few hills in the beginning, most of the terrain was flat. Three skiers decided early in the trip not to ski all the way to Crescent Lake. The snow was surprisingly good — not icy at all. Sun glasses and sunscreen were a must. After crossing the old Waldo airport, we skied on through our winter wonderland until reaching the railroad tracks. Four stayed there to have a leisurely lunch before heading back. The rest of the group broke trail for a short distance before reaching Crescent Lake. Next came lunch by the pot bellied stove at Crescent Lake Lodge. One skier decided to study and be picked up by car later, while the remaining seven journeyed back to Odell Lodge and hot cider!

Rosy-cheeked skiers included Susan Barbano, Mary and Mike Catlin, Genie Currier, Bill Eltz, Laura Fatuzzo, Gladys Grancorvitz, Dot Leland, Anne Montgomery, Mary Ann Petersen, Mary Jean Petersen, Carol Waddell, Ruth Wisner, and leaders Jan and Rich Anselmo.
