Waldo Mountain

November 1, 1987

Waldo Mountain had not a drop nor a hint of any snow this November 1 morning. The fog was thick, preventing a look at the marvelous view of the Sisters and Waldo Basin but it lifted enough to get a peek. The road to the trailhead passes by logging cuts and current harvesting so one is relieved that the Waldo Country is somewhat protected. The trailhead is easy to reach by taking Road 14 (Salmon Creek Rd.) out of Oakridge, turning on 2417 and then on 2424 and staying with it to the parking area. Hikers were Susan Baker, Marcia Danab, Barb Elsen, Gladys Grancorvitz, Dot Leland, Mary Millman, Kathy and Parker Riddle, Ardys Ringsdorf, Richard Sundt, Zudigi Tala, Linda Wells and leaders Maxine Hall and Mary Ellen West.
