Black Crater

July 19, 1987

After two days of rain, three determined hikers set out on a beautiful Sunday to climb Black Crater. It was cool and cloudy to start with, but towards the top it became sunny as we walked through 4" of newly fallen snow. The views of the mountains were absolutely breathtaking — some were in clouds and others sparkled like jewels. We were thoroughly delighted with our hike on such an exceptional day. Hikers were: Judith Page, Tom Cawi and leader Suzanne Steussy.
