Although the morning started cloudy and cool, the temperature was perfect for hiking.
Driving to the trailhead, we passed Cougar Dam which was emerald green and mirror smooth.
We arrived at the trailhead about 10:00 a.m.
Helen Smith and Mary Bridgeman were staying at the Olallie Meadows cabin.
We hiked there first to deliver some fresh fruit and recent newspapers.
At the cabin we also found Obsidians Shirley Froyd, Bonnie Ledford, Leona Devine, Paula Vehrs
and Gladys Grancorvitz.
After a visit, we proceeded to Olallie Mountain.
The trail was in excellent condition. The flowers were still plentiful and beautiful.
As we reached the top, the sun broke through the clouds.
There was no wind so we had a warm and leisurely lunch stop before returning to our cars.
Hikers were non-members Robin Cochran, Judith Engle, Nola Shurtleff and Tom Wiesenfeld.
Members were Joella Ewing, Sharon Ritchie and leaders Bob and Ellen Tracy.
