Sawtooth Trail

April 12, 1987

Wonderful, was the view from Sawtooth Rock, leaving the best view from Mt. June until the end of the hike. Leaving on the Mt. June trail at 9:30 a.m., we hiked to Hardesty Trail, getting to the Rock by 10:30; after a rest and picture taking we reentered the trail again for Hardesty. Because of the good pace we were keeping we arrived at Hardesty in time for lunch at 12:00. After one hour in the sun, we started back and began to ascend Mt. June at 3:00. On reaching the top at 3:30 we were well rewarded with a magnificent view, blue skies, a few clouds, and could see 9 peaks, with Jack the only one hiding. It was great for the new hikers to be able to look back over the ridge that they had traveled that day. Arriving back at the van at 4:30, we all had had a very enjoyable hike. On Hardesty were Susan Baker, Jerry Crosby, Jill Hansen, Shelly Mehon, Dewey Porter, Barbara Spencer, Tom Wiesenfeld, and Becky Hansen (leader).
