Berley LakesMarch 1, 1986Yes, folks, Berley Lakes do exist as we found out again. The secret is to know when to start angling downwards in a westerly direction. Unfortunately, we missed that moment somewhat and, as a result, had to fight our way through tree wells on a steep incline for about 45 minutes. Nevertheless, our sturdy crew consisting of Carol Stern, Joe Turner, Jan White and leaders Andy and Marie-Anne Thompson remain cheerful. We finally reached our destination at 1 p.m. with a magnificent view of Three Fingered Jack and even Mount Jefferson. The weather turned out to be near perfect, but the snow was heavy and wet. One could have drowned in some of the tree wells. A good outing was had by all. |
