Quartzville Creek Rd

January 25, 1986

When snow conditions are good this trip can be a good alternative to skiing the usual ski trails. We picked a perfect day for the trip with sunny weather and good snow. From highway 20 at Foster Reservoir we drove 37½ miles up road no. 11, past Green Peter Dam to approximately 2900 feet elevation. From there we skied 2½ miles to the 4000 foot pass for lunch, complete with views of Three Fingered Jack and Mt Jefferson. After lunch we skied up road 1133 to a log landing with a good downhill run on the return trip.

The lucky 13 skiers were Rick Ahrens, Dallas and Jack Cole, Emmy Dale, Jane Hackett, Carol Stern, Vi Johnson, Sandra Larsen, Gene Thaxton, Jan Thelen, Tom Woxell, and leaders Bea Fontana and Wes Prouty.
