Linton Meadows-Eileen Lake
August 30-31, 1986
Hiking through fog and slight drizzle August 30th we could not see the Three Sisters.
We stopped at Linton Springs and filled our water bottles, and hiked on to Eileen Lake where
we set up camp.
Some of us hiked over to Husband Lake and circled that lake.
Toward sunset we got a partial view of the South Sister.
The stars were out late at night and so the next morning proved clear with the great view of
North, Middle and South Sisters, and the Husband.
Four of us climbed nearly to the top of the Husband and were treated to great views of the
Three Sisters, Mt Bachelor, Mt Washington, Mt Jefferson and Eileen Lake.
As we were hiking out about noon, clouds obscured the Middle Sister.
All five of us enjoyed this backpack trip in spite of the fog and obscured Three Sisters.
We five were Ralph Nafziger, Becky Hansen, Meg Kieran, Velma Shirk and leader Bob Foster.
