Crescent Mountain

July 5, 1986

Crescent Mountain was a lovely destination for a saturday, July 5, hike. It was warm but not too hot and 15 people ventured out hoping that this day was not full of snow as the day before had been. It was delightful and the view of the freshly white mountains was magnificent. The hike to Crescent was pleasant with many wild flowers, no bugs and several wonderful stands of flowering Washington lilies in the big meadow at about 3 miles in. Sitting on top eating lunch, everyone was thoughtful about the unsolved murder or suicide of the lookout person back in the 40’s. One of us had been reading the book of stories of northwest lookouts. A good day for hikers Glenn Aplin, Bill Bohannon, Paul and Karen Cohen, Bob Foster, Gladys Grancorvitz, Bobbie Kalbfleisch, Vicki Koch, Sandra Larsen, Gary Marx, Dewey Porter, Paula Vehrs, Marty Welches, Nia Sunwater and leader, Mary Ellen West.
