Hardesty Mountain Trail #3469January 26, 1986This was the first of the Trail Committee’s several scheduled “Hardesty” work trips. Fierce headway was made into completing and finalizing sections of last year’s by-pass reconstruction (below the Crale Creek Road crossing), and in spite of a needless shortage of hand tools one large obstructing root was eventually severed, two switchbacks widened and reinforced, and one dog-leg of trail reworked to specifications. (Passenger tally noted during the day was: Hikers, nil; Mountain trail bikes, nil; joggers, one!!!) Hardesty renovators were Betty Macy, Dallas Cole, Mary Bridceman, Shirley Froyd, Helen Smith and leader John Cecil. |
