Thanksgiving at the Lodge
November 27, 1986
Bernice Leibel proved to be an expert at cooking turkey, dressing and gravy. Her husband, Jerome, carved. A well-rounded potluck by others made a delicious feast enjoyed by 34 members and guests. A Thanksgiving poem was read by Carolyn Orum.
Basket cornucopia, donated by Dallas Cole and filled with everlasting flowers grown or gathered by Vera Woolley, and candles decorated the tables. Four arrangements were auctioned off after the potluck. Ten cent chances were sold on the turkey carcass: Ethel Steussy was the lucky winner!
Slides of Hawaii’s exotic flowers and seascapes were shown. It was a very enjoyable Thanksgiving Day.
