Diamond Peak

June 21, 1986

Left Lowell at 6:15 a.m. and picked up two other climbers in Oakridge. Started in on Blue Lake Trail at 8:30 a.m. After 90 minutes of extensive reconnaissance of the area above Blue Lake the group rehuddled for the summit attempt which occurred at 3:30 p.m. On top we were greatly surprised meeting fellow Obsidians Jerold Williams and Linda Ertz who came from the Summit Lake Trail. With rear ends setting speed records, the group glissaded and descended to the cars by 8 p.m. Mosquitos were light but definitely there!

Climbers were Jan and Rich Anselmo, Tom Cawi, Audrey Cummings, Saundra Miles, Neff and Royal Murdock, Maureen and Scott Russell, Tom Woxell and leaders Tom Donnelly and Chris Shuraleff.
