Diamond PeakMay 17, 1986We camped Friday night at Indigo Springs Campground. There was not a cloud in sight as we headed up the trail. Reached the summit around noon after slogging (postholing in some places) through soft snow. View was marred by numerous smoke columns from slash burning. We stayed on top over an hour before heading down. Had a great glissade, then slogged out over the soft snow. Nice climb with a greet group on a beautiful, warm late spring day. Sloggers/glissaders were Tim Cook, Lee Hatch, Rick Hargreaves, Betty Macy, Dave Predeek, Joe Turner, and leader Randy Zustiak. |
