Maklaks Loop

March 31, 1985

We were able to complete the 6.6 mile loop tour as there was ample snow along the Davis Lake Road. We stopped at the play area and could see evidence of the winter blow down. The day was sunny and warm—we enjoyed some down hill runs then skied 1.6 miles on the A trail stopping for lunch up on a recent cleared off slope. We followed the road again and came to the B trail sign and skied up the steep ridge to the Davis Lake Access Road. After skiing 2.3 miles down this road it connects with the main road completing the loop. More relaxing and skiing around the area before leaving and back to the cars and refreshments in Oakridge.

Spring skiing is fun according to Maklaks loopers Laura Alpert, Sandra Larsen, Velma Shirk, Bobbye Sorrels, Joe Turner and leader Dot Leland.
