Around Big Lake (Potatoe Hill)
January 20, 1985
The trip to Potatoe Hill was scheduled to replace a trip to Three Creeks, which was
moved to a later date.
Deep ruts and frozen snow greeted the five skiers who thought they wanted to ski Potatoe Hill.
Upon observing snow and trail conditions, it was agreed to continue on to HooDoo and ski
around Big Lake.
The decision was a good choice.
The snow was still frozen but had been groomed by the tracks of the snowmobiles.
A leisurely trip around the lake with views of Washington and Three Fingered Jack was
enjoyed by Linda Alpert, Clay DeForge, Rick Silverman, Benn Lill and leader Wayne Lill.
