Midnight Lake Loop
January 19, 1985
This trip was originally scheduled as Rosary Lakes but since there hadn’t
been any new snow in over two weeks I substituted Rosary for Midnight Lake.
We left Eugene at a few minutes after eight and arrived at the trailhead about 10:15 a.m.
We had some fog and then a few opportunities to see the sun.
The trail into the lake was icy in some places so we worked hard.
After lunching at the lake we went out on the Pengra Road loop.
Along the way we met Jan White, fellow Obsidian, and her friends.
We stopped at a hill and practiced down hill techniques for a short time.
Then it was back to the car and a stop in Oakridge for a snack.
Three skiers were one nonmember, Laurette DeForge, and members Joe Turner
and Sandra Larsen, leader.
