Bike Trip to Hayden Bridge
December 14, 1985
We met at Alton Baker Park on a calm, frosty morning.
There were scattered patches of fog but otherwise the weather was perfect
for a December bike ride.
Our group of 3 pedaled east to Sringfield following bike paths wherever we could.
From Springfield we heeded north on 5th Street.
North of Fred Meyer's store we took the bike trail east.
We stopped briefly for coffee at the small store on the north side of Hayden Bridge.
From here we pedaled north through farm country on Old Mohawk Road then west on
McKenzie View Drive.
We crossed the old railroad trestle at Armitage Park and then had lunch at the
Chalet Restaurant on Gateway Street.
Altogether we biked about 25 miles and returned to Alton Baker in 4 hours including
time off for lunch.
Bikers were Bob Devine, Carol Houde and leader Dave Predeek.
