Rosary Lakes

October 26, 1985

After a few days of rain, we did not expect the weather to be much different. However, a beautiful red sunrise was followed by one of our prettiest autumn days. It was a beautful day for hiking in the mountains.

Seven hikers arrived at Willamette Pass about 9:30 a.m. and had an early lunch at the large upper lake. While one stayed to soak up the sunshine, the others climbed the steep slopes to the base of Rosary Rock. Three went to within about 25 feet of the summit, but the leader was unable to persuade the others to come on up to the top.

We all met by the lake for the hike out. We arrived at the cars by 3:30 p.m. and head homeward, enjoying the beautiful fall colors of the foliage. Hikers were nonmembers Marion Ellis, Tom Ellis and Bill Morse, and members Bob Foster, Ann Moore, Lois Morse and leader Norm Benton.
