Todd Lake Ridge, Bare Lake

October 12, 1985

We had a brisk fall day for our trip. Trish, Gayle and Tom met John and Marge in Bend. We all piled into John’s 4WD and drove the short distance to Todd Lake. This trip was off trail by map and compass. We walked along Todd Lake and then went up a draw at the end of the lake and climbed to Bare Lake. The lake was beautiful in the fall setting. We then went around the lake and up Todd Ridge to the summit where we had lunch. It was quite chilly so we built a small fire for warmth. The view of Mt. Bachelor was spectacular as well as Broken Top and the South Sister. We continued on down the other side of the Todd Ridge summit and followed around Todd Lake staying high. We walked along another ridge which would lead to Ditch Creek and then returned via the north side of Todd Lake.

A very enjoyable trip with quite a bit of snow in spots. Several of us ended up with wet sox. Trish in her new Danner boots was bone dry. Included on the trip were Trish Hawkins, Gayle and Tom Rule, Marge and John Kocher, leader.
