This annual Cowhorn Mtn. (elevation 7,664 feet) was a first in several ways!
(1) The trailhead was located without the leader diverting off down the wrong F.S. road;
(2) After picking prime weather in previous years, this time near white-out conditions
Our summit stay was consequently brief: lunch was taken at a sheltered spot back on the PCNST.
Moist, cold weather continued, but the day was “saved” by some
cunningly-administered doses of “Fisherman’s Friend”.
This was a fun hike by a neat all-Obsidian group.
Cowhorn “whiners” were Tim Cook, Dallas and Jack Cole, Bert Ewing, Mary Fulton,
Joanne Haines, Becky Hansen, Betty Macy, and John Cecil, leader.
