Because this was the first Mt. Bailey trip for everyone except the leader, we elected
to go from the bottom (there is an upper road two miles above the lower trailhead).
According to the signs it is a 9 mile round trip hike from the lower trailhead to the summit.
The hike started at 10:30 a.m. on a cloudless day.
Everyone was on the summit by 1:30 p.m. where we were greeted by 18 Mazamas.
The rigorous hike was endured by Lee Hatch, Alice Peterson, Sue Roe, and Wes Prouty, leader.
