August 25, 1985
Twelve hearty early bird type people gathered at 6 a.m. in the South Parking
lot for a long trek to the Chambers Lakes.
The sunrise was gorgeous and the entire day warm and toasty.
The whole group arrived at the lake by 12:15 p.m. and were able to spend a couple
of hours enjoying the scenery.
The snow left was less than any of the past four years although several pretty good
sized drifts remained.
All twelve hikers agreed that this area is one of the most beautiful places anywhere
and well worth the fifteen mile walk.
The hearty were Barbara Chinn, Dick Cross, Bob Foster, Gladys Grancorvitz, Maxine Hall,
Mike Horowitz, Whitey Leuck, Ed Lovegren, Anne Montgomery, Jim Northrup
and leaders Vi Johnson and Mary Ellen West.
