January 19, 1985
Eleven alert hikers, excited by mostly clear skies and a beautiful sunrise, met
at the corner of Patterson and 19th for the short drive though Lowell, past Unity
and on to the beginning of the Fall Creek Trail.
A little fog and a little ice did not dampen the enthusiasm of what promised to be
a perfect day for hiking.
A very pleasant hike followed, everyone’s temperament buoyed by the dry and
unusually sunny January day.
The day ended as it began—everyone in high spirits, comfortably tired, and
looking forward to more spring-like trips.
Hikers were Joe Austin, Jack and Joella Ewing, Dorothy Hayes, Jeanie Holmes, Gary Marx,
Naomi Prouse, Lois Schreiner, Pat Shaw, Gini Welling, and leader Bob Emmich.
