Berley LakesMarch 18, 1984The weather was snow most of the day, wet and heavy, with perhaps from one to one and a half foot of fresh snow to break trail through. This was done by taking turns, but is not a fast paced procedure even at best. We followed the old Skyline trail blazes for a good distance then resorted to compass when they disappeared below snow line. This brought us in slightly above the old Jack Shelter area where we descended and had lunch; and then proceeded on to lower Berley Lake where the time of day and group consensus turned us around. A good day in the snow! This fine group of determined and game skiers were Lynn Baker, Marl Baldwin, Bea Fontana, Jane Hackett, Sandra Larsen, Dot Leland, Eve Lonnquist, Dave Predeek, Wes Prouty, Linda Rockwell, Fred and Jean Richardson, Ruth Romoser, Gene Thaxton, Tom Woxell, and leader Glenn Meares. |
