Blair LakeMarch 11, 1984Thirteen lucky folks braved the Oregon winter to trek into Blair Lake, a relatively unknown destination for X-country skiers. All participants had been forewarned of weather and snow conditions—freezing level at seven thousand feet and sixty percent chance of rain by afternoon. For the hardcore skier it might have been disappointing skiing, however, for Blair Lake Alumni and friends it was quite a pleasant, relaxed way to spend the day. The snow was slow, but no one took a fall and the rain held off until we arrived back at the cars. Skiers were Emmy Dale, Gladys Grancorvitz, Linda Horsfall, Jane Katra, Sandra Larsen, Nancy Loya, Mark Nielsen, Don Philpott, Hank Plant, Rachel Powell, Dorothy Turner, and co-leaders Mary Fulton and Kate Stroh. |
