We left the Hoodoo parking lot about 11:30 a.m. to head around Hayrick Butte.
It was a beautiful sunny day with a cloudless blue sky.
We had lunch from a point giving us a vista of Mt. Washington.
Then we headed west across flat terrain full of young trees on our way to the camp
access road on the east side of Big Lake, down the road a bit and then a compass
course through the woods to ski on to Big Lake.
From there it was a long, steady ski back to arrive at the car about 4 p.m.
We were glad an inauspicious beginning had turned into a rewarding day.
Our carfull consisted of Linda Horsfall, Alys Riley, Martha Teich and
leader Richard Heinzkill.
