Snowshoe Around Hayrick ButteJanuary 14, 1984We left a sunny, cool Eugene, and found the area windy and cold. After buckling up, we moved out, up and over the saddle between Hoodoo and Hayrick. We continued around the base of Hayrick and decided it wasn’t a day for a leisurely time at Big Lake—too much cold wind. Lunch stop was back at the ski lodge where we watched the long line of downhill skiers inch their way to board the reduced number of lifts operating on this frigid, cloudy day. We did enjoy our sojourn; come walk with us next January. Dedicated snowshoers were Amy Clugston, Charlotte Mills, Bobbie Sorrels, Ted Sterns, Joe Turner, Paula Vehrs, Maureen Willison, and leader Joe Lowry. |
